Nearly all rapids within the Grand Canyon are big water but not technical. Hance does require, or is at least advisable, to make some moves. There is a sneak left and that run is documented on YouTube, but it wasn't an option the day we ran. The right side run just looked better. It was our first class VIII rated rapid and it showed. No carnage but the two boats that hit the big lower hole would not have wanted to have been in smaller boats. No scouting photographs but we did film the runs from river left, mid-rapid.
