Day 1 - Mineral Bottom to Horse Thief Canyon

The view downriver after launching from Mineral Bottom. The slight current trail of bubbles didn't mean much to me at this point. Shoreline opposite from Mineral Bottom ramp. After the thunderstorms and rain of the previous day, felt good to have blue skys for the trip start. It was a leisurely two hour float/paddle from Mineral Bottom six miles downstream to my first planned campsite, Horse Thief Canyon. This turned out to be the only campsite that mapped onto the float plan. From that time forward, it was on-the-fly. Can't imagine what the river bank would have looked like prior to the tamarisks.
