We picked up our permits in Lajitas at the Barton Warnock Center, confirmed shuttle arrangements with Far Flung, topped-off with $3.05 a gallon gas, took pictures of the Contrabando movie set including instructions to not burn it down, looked upstream and downstream from the 'Big Hill', and then drove back to rig-up and be devoured by biting insects.
